Improved performance with BMC Carbon Dynamic Air box (CDA)
Since 1996 BMC air filters have equipped some of the most important Teams in F1 and American Le Mans Series. Thus demonstrating the high quality level of the product.
CDA filtering system is composed of a cylindrical carbon air box containing a washable filtering element. Substituting the original air box with the CDA, cold air is directly channeled through an internal airflow deflector to the filter and drawn into the engine with a very small pressure drop (patented system).
The CDA system also includes a black alloy ducting for connecting the system to an air intake on the front of the car.
Design and materials
Qualified engineers using advanced software and expert technicians using the latest technologies produce BMC air filters. An F1 filter must be very light, must be made of the best raw materials and must improve performance.
For this reason BMC use only alloy mesh with epoxy coating to ensure protection from petrol fumes and from oxidization due to the humidity of the air. The filtering material is composed of special cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil to give you the best air permeability.
The BMC filter element is washable; we advise you to clean it every 15,000 miles (25.000 km) to maintain the maximum performance.
